December 2015 - Christmas with family in Vietnam

We were so happy to have Shealyn, Mackenzie-- and Chantelle just back from her mission in Japan-- join us for Christmas in Cambodia-- the day after Christmas we flew to Saigon and enjoyed a couple of days together there.  I had the opportunity to release Chantelle from her mission which was a wonderful privilege and blessing

Above just before releasing Chantelle as a missionary

Our wonderful missionary daughter Chantelle

Christmas tree in Aon Mall-- where we enjoyed a "shabu shabu" meal together...

Complete with the bird woman!  "Feed the birds"...

Another very pretty Catholic cathedral in Saigon-- pink!

And the outdoor "garden path" showing the events in Christ's death and resurrection via statues

We also spent time at the HCMC zoo and botanical gardens-- a wonderful place to see flowers, topiary, and animals.. we enjoyed riding a "train" through the park first, and then wandering back to places we wanted to see more of...

The HCMC opera house lit up at night...

We also took a day trip to the Mekong Delta region and My Tho - where we were able to have fun with bees, snakes, crocodiles, and coconut candy...

A fun ride through the "jungle" river -- complete with pointy hats...

The monastery of the "Coconut Monk"

  1. So fun to see these photos! I have worked with two missionaries who are at the MTC in Provo right now. A sister Nen and Elder Chhen. Sister Nen has quite an amazing story. I'd love to share it with you all.
