Returned Missionary Reunion for local missionaries in Cambodia and Vietnam November 16, 2013

We had a wonderful returned missionary reunion with all returned missionaries in Cambodia on November 16, 2013.  Sister Moon did the planning along with a committee of local RM's.  We could not have done it without the help of many senior couples that day.  They helped so much.

Next we did speed-dating with the single returned missionaries-- they had never done this before, and were a bit nervous about it, but after a few rounds they got the hang of it and really enjoyed it!  Many said it was a great way to break the ice with other RM's that they didn't know well.

Food was catered by Viva's-- the local RM's all wanted Mexican!  Imagine that!

We had an absolutely wonderful group of 7 local sister missionaries and 1 local elder who finished their missions November 8, 2013.  It was delightful to meet with them as they completed their missions.  We had a dinner for them and their parents and families at the South District Center, followed by a ceremony presenting them their certificates and a testimony meeting.  The testimony meeting was a wonderful opportunity for them to share their testimonies and feelings with their families-- many of whom are non-members or only part-member families.  The greatest desire for each of these local missionaries is that their families will want to join the church and be active and go to the temple to be sealed as families.

These wonderful children are sort of always at the SDC and anxious to pop in and join any activity we have!  They are darling.  I think the SDC is sort of their own backyard playground.
