Christmas Eve 2013

We enjoyed a wonderful day of training and activities with our missionaries in Cambodia on Christmas Eve.  Transfers were timed to coincide so we could do this when everyone needed to come anyway.  The day started with a service project at the "Killing Fields"-- a truly memorable way to give service at a place that holds great cultural and historical significance here.  Most of the elders and sisters in Phnom Penh were able to participate in the service project.  No pictures here of that, I'll add those separately.
After they had time to go home, shower, and go to the district center we had a talent show... a lot of fun and some wonderful talents shared by many missionaries.  Above we have some singing a Christmas song in several different languages.

"Beyond 6" -- the sequel-- courtesy of the office elders and assistants.  Loved the words of the song ("I want be like Samuel the Lamanite, Captain Moroni... etc."

The Central Zone regaled us with a chime symphony.  Santa himself even joined in!

The cool part of this was not Elder Yorgason juggling.  The cool part was him reciting the long poem "The Ambulance Down in the Valley" while he juggled-- all from memory, without missing a beat or any balls.

The audience

More chime coordination.  This is harder than it looks.

Elder Brittain sang a song he wrote himself.

Sister Johnson shared the most delightful story about the family with crooked faces-- and it even had a morale about English classes!

Elder Meyers and yo-yo tricks...

Elder Jones provided the be-bop sound effects for the yo-yo tricks...

A nice duet from the Battambang pair Elder Horn and Elder Lao.  Best friends.

Another wonderful duet, from Elder Workman and Elder Sundstrom-- they sang this at the Christmas Choir concert for the members too.  O Come O Come Emmanuel.  Very nice harmony.

Gift exchange game!

Notice the matching hair bows and ties on everyone-- a gift from the mission...

Hard to see faces, but I think this is about 130 of us.

9 ladies dancing... ok, so maybe not dancing...

Sister Ashcraft and Sister Ray modeling the hair ties.

This is what everyone really came for... thank you Sister Moon and all the senior couple sisters!

I think he was practicing to be a shepherd?

We actually did get a lot of good training in too (although we forgot to take any pictures of that), but hopefully you can tell we had a lot of fun!
