Fire & cleanup

The next few posts will be backwards in order and late, but trying to catch up.  A week ago the home of one of our wonderful branch presidents, in a Vietnamese speaking branch, had his home completely destroyed by a fire.  About 30 homes in the neighborhood were totally destroyed.  It happened on a Chinese holiday-- some sort of tradition where they burn papers on open flames to the ancestors or something, a very unsafe thing.  We heard fire engines all day.  They had a neighbor doing it and it got out of control.  The first picture is night of the fire, we went and made sure they were safe, no one was hurt, but they lost everything.  Very sad.  We took them some food and bedding, they are staying with an uncle.  The next morning Sis. Moon and a lot of members and missionaries gathered at the site to help clean up the debris and site.  The branch president has a wonderful spirit and great faith.  But it is still hard to see them have to go through such challenges.  This was in an area by the river, very poor to start with, and all the homes are wooden homes.
